Christmas Is Coming: Winterville

It’s officially Christmas time! I know for a lot of you out there, the festive period doesn’t start until December 1st but I suggest you don’t wait that long to visit Winterville!

I honestly thought I was going to have to write this review comparing it to Winter Wonderland. The rides, the food and drink, the activities – and tell you that it was good but Winter Wonderland is just that bit better. I didn’t look up what Winterville was like last year (at its former location: Victoria Park) or what it offers once you’re there, I just assumed. There’s also my thought that Winter Wonderland sets the bar rather high so could it really top it?! Oh how wrong was I…

I have to tell you I’m a little undecided. And that is only because I haven’t been to Winter Wonderland yet this year! My boyfriend, however, was totally sold that Winterville is better…

I understand why he thinks this. I just think it depends what you’re going there for as to which you’d end up favouring.

Winterville offers such a larger variety of activities you can do. It had a cinema, roller disco arena, ice rink, crazy golf course, food hall, Ferris wheel, live music area and – of course – it wouldn’t be called a festive playground without the funfair rides!

I would like to put it on the record that I beat Oliver by 6 shots at golf. We are never playing again so that I can hold this over him forever!

But it’s something that Winter Wonderland doesn’t offer. Along with Backyard Cinema and the roller disco, there is just that little bit more choice when it comes to activities.

The Street Food food hall offers everything from sandwiches to squid!

However, if you go to a Christmas festival to try alllll the food and see stands of little trinkets then this isn’t the place for you. However, with two floors in the street food area, a live choir, and the biggest choice of funfair attractions – you’d be a fool to miss out on a visit to this place!

It’s free entry except on Friday’s + Saturday’s and is open until January 1st so you have plenty of time to get over there.

It’s truly London’s alternative festive experience and I absolutely loved it!

Until next time,
