Becoming Accountable As A Blogger

I love blogging. I love interacting with so many like-minded people online and learning about topics I’m passionate about from so many inspiring men and women. The only problem I have with this new industry is the small number of people out there who promote nutrition and/or fitness without any sort of training and education on the subject and give potentially harming advice. For example, I’ve seen bloggers with large influence telling people to consume less than 1,000 calories a day or laxative-laden teas or showing poor form when exercising so their bodies look better in the Instagram video. This is dangerous to the health of their followers who trust in what these people say and do. Without the correct learning behind them and the qualifications to back up what they say, they are doing a disservice to those following them.

I get asked all the time about my workouts and if I could produce workout videos to post on my Instagram feed. The simple answer is, no. Because I’m not qualified to do so. I have worked with several personal trainers and know what I’m doing in the gym but I don’t have that piece of paper that says I’m a qualified personal trainer. Therefore, I don’t feel comfortable creating content and showing you form of moves in case it’s not 100% accurate.

Expect plenty of workout content come December though as I will officially be a qualified personal trainer, thanks to No. 1 Fitness! I can’t wait to get stuck in on an intensive training schedule and learn everything I possibly can to help me make the most informative content I can for you guys!

The course is 10 weeks part e-learning and part physical sessions in one of their studios in London. I am already learning so much on this course, it takes me back to about six years ago which was the last time I was working towards any sort of educational qualification! Online lectures followed by a hands-on approach with qualified instructors and final tests!

I’ll let you know how it goes when I’m further into the course and what I really think of the experience, but for now I just wanted to let you know what I was up to and why I might be a little quieter than usual on my social media…I’m back studying!

Any questions about becoming a personal trainer let me know in the comments below or DMs on my Instagram.

Until next time,
